Thankful for Rain

What is this???
It is the sound of a quiet melody played on our metal roof, with a soft rumble that would echo in the background every now and then. This is the kind of music we have not had the enjoyment of having played regularly for us in quite some time now.

We had rain the week before spring break and none of us could believe it, but today the weather person predictated it again and so soon... WOW! Yea for the lakes, rivers, flowers, and our grass. We are so thankful for the rain that mother nature around here needed so much.

The boys are so facinated by watching it rain (just a reminder of how significant the little things are that we take for granted or don't spend the time to just stop and watch it rain.) They would have loved to play in it, but not today. We were under a tornado watch and we were supposed to get heavy hail.

We were lucky we did not have a problem with any of that serious stuff, but we did have lightning. So we watched it rain and talked about what we would do if we did have a tornado come our way. For any of you who are curious... we would be safe because we would go next door to our neighbors storm shelter.

We just enjoyed it and I enjoyed being reminded about the little things that are blessings to all of us. - Especially for us here in central Texas who have been in a bit of a drought for about a year and a half.
Then after it was over we opened the windows and let that beautiful, intoxicating, cool, fresh just after it rained smell over take us while we folded laundry and jumped on the bed.
